MedDRA MSSO Privacy Policy Statement

This privacy policy sets out how the MedDRA MSSO uses and protects any information that you give the MedDRA MSSO when you use this Web site.

The MedDRA MSSO is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. If we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this Web site, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

The MedDRA MSSO may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page periodically to ensure that you agree with any changes. This policy is effective from 1 November 2010.

What we collect

We may collect the following information for a MedDRA subscription:

•   Name and job title
•   Contact information including phone, fax, email address, company, address, city, state, country, and postal/zip code

What we do with the information we gather

We require this information for the services that the MedDRA MSSO offers, such as the distribution of a MedDRA release, training courses or meetings, for the following reasons:

•   Internal record keeping
•   Subscription renewal
•   To improve our services.

Additionally, we may occasionally send emails to subscriber contacts and to people who have requested to be on our mailing list about our services or other information which we think may be useful.

We use an encrypted VeriSign® SSL (Secure Socket Layer) Certificate to collect information voluntarily submitted by visitors to our Web site. An SSL Certificate is the standard security requirement for transactions online. An SSL Certificate combines encryption to protect information as it travels the Internet and identifies information about the certificate owner to protect against fraud. When you log into the subscriber portion of the MedDRA MSSO Web site, your User ID and password are encrypted.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Google Analytics Cookies

We use the Google Analytics™ web analytics tool that helps us analyze how visitors engage with our Web site. Google Analytics uses a cookie that collects anonymous traffic data, and much like examining footprints in sand, it reports Web site trends without identifying individual visitors.

The cookie is used to store information, such as what time your current visit occurred, whether you have been to the site before, and what site referred you to the Web page. Google Analytics provides a variety of reports about how you interact with our Web site, such as number of pages you view and files that you download. Google Analytics requires that all Web sites that use it must update their privacy policy to include a notice that fully discloses the use of Google Analytics.

By using Google Analytics we were required to agree to Google's Terms of Service (http://www.google.com/analytics/tos.html)

Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (BETA)

To provide Web site visitors with more choice about how their data is collected by Google Analytics, Google has developed the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. The add-on communicates with the Google Analytics to indicate that information about the Web site visit should not be sent to Google Analytics.

If you want to opt out, download and install the add-on for your current web browser. The Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on is available for Internet Explorer® (versions 7 and 8), Google Chrome™ (4.x and higher), and Mozilla® Firefox® (3.5 and higher).
